Watched The Matrix on Bluray for the first time ever. Still the awesome and amazing film I fell in love with 10 years ago. To say it was the best movie of 1999 is insulting. It’s the film that defined the entire decade of the 1990s, redefined the word “cool” for a new generation of cinema, and raised the bar for visual effects for years to come. It was the last great film to change how movies are made. Hugo Weaving as Agent Smith is still one of the best villains of all-time, and The Wachowskis paved the way for today’s rising directors. It also helps prove, in my opinion, that no matter how many other names Disney buys, Warner Bros. is still superior at creating films that shape popular culture.

The Wachowskis rumored to direct The Justice League?

The creators of The Matrix Trilogy / screenwriters for V For Vendetta may direct JLA.

As much as I’ve grown to have mixed feelings about the Matrix sequels… this is still badass news.

Say what you will about their ability to conclude a story that was more than fine as a stand-alone movie… they are visual artists that paved the way for Zack Snyder.

Neo Hides from Lumbergh (by AkselDog)

Funny because they both came out in 1999.

I love this scene.

The line “Nobody has ever done anything like this before — That’s why it’s going to work” PERFECTLY describes the rest of the movie.

When I first saw this I thought to myself “I’m not sure what I’m about to see, but whatever it is, I will never forget it.”

Anyone feel the same?
